Surat is second largest and fastest growing cities of Gujarat, It is located on the bank of the Tapi River. Surat is world famous for the cutting of diamonds and polishing. Surat is also known as "Diamond City" because 90% of the world diamonds are processed here.

Surat is doing rapid growth in urbanization in recent years. It boasted in modern infrastructure which including roads, shopping centre and residential sector etc. Surat have also doing well in improving its waste management systems day by day, Surat is earning the second cleanest cities of India after Indore. 

Places to Visit in Surat

1. Dumas Beach

Dumas Beach is one of the famous and well known beaches in Surat, It is located about 21 Kilometers from city centre and situated along the Arabian Sea. Dumas Beach holds a special place in the hearts of locals and tourists. It is more popular in weekend days for Surat people as well as travelers, who came from nearby cities of surat.

There are some locals and folklore associated with Dumas Beach, said that the Dumas Beach is haunted, because Many people claiming that they have experienced paranormal activities in the area. As a result the beach is close after the sunset. 

2. Sarthana Nature Park

Sarthana Nature Park is mainly for the nature lovers, families and wildlife lover who can came here and experience the natural beauty. The area of the Sarthana Nature Park is about 81 hectares and is situated in the southern part of Surat.

 

In Sarthana Nature park there are varity of animals like Leopards, Lions, Tigers, Deer, Jackels, Wild Bear, Monkeys, Reptiles, Snakes Lizards and Birds. The park having a lake which offers natural charm around the surroundings. Due to the presence of water, Park become more peaceful for both animals and visitors. 

The Park is best place for a Picnic Lover who can enjoy their day by surrounding the nature. Best time to visit Sarthana Nature Park is from October to March because the weather is pleasant and cool that time.

3. Surat Castle (Surat Fort)

Surat Castle also known as Surat Fort, It is a historical fort located in Surat, Gujarat. It was built in 1546 by Sultan Mahmud to protect the city from  Portuguese and Dutch  

The design of the castle is built in Islamic architectural, With a combine elements of military defense and aesthetic appeal. The design of the castle includes high walls, bastions, and strategic placement near the waterfront to serve as both a stronghold and a symbol of Surat's economic importance at the time.
