Yamunotri

Yamunotri is situated at an High Altitude of 3293 m (10804 ft ) above the sea level in the Uttarkshi district of Uttarakhand, India. It is one of the Char Dham Pilgrimage sites (along with KedarnathBadrinath and Gangotri). 

Yamunotri is the starting point of Yamuna River from the Yamuna Glacier, consider as the second most sacred river after the Ganga. 

Yamunotri Temple

Yamunotri Temple is dedicate to the Goddess Yamuna, daughter of the Surya Dev (Sun) and Sister of Yamraj. It is believed that the Yamuna protect the devotees from the premature death and suffering from their problem. 

Yamunotri is the beginning point of Chota Char Dham Yatra (Yamunotri - Gangotri - Kedarnath - Badrinath), which is the first four sacred temples in the traditional clockwise pilgrimage route.

Janki Chatti is a small Himalayan town, situated at an altitude of 2650 m (8694 ft) above the sea level. It is starting point of the 6 km trek towards Yamunotri. It serves as the main base camp for pilgrims. 

Hanuman Chatti

Hanuman Chatti is small pilgrim village,  situated at the confluence of the Hanuman Ganga and Yamuna River, it is about 10 km (approx) from the Yamunotri Temple. Hanuman Chatti is the main starting point of the Yamunotri trek.

Barkot

Barkot is the main rest stop before starting the Journey to Janki Chatti and Yamunotri Trek, It is situated at an high altitude of about 1220 m (4003 ft) approx above the sea level. Here you get a budget hotels, Guesthouses, Dharamshales and river side camps. 

Kharsali Village

Kharsali is a Himalayan village situated in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, it is famous as the winter home of Goddess Yamuna and for its ancient wooden Shani Dev Temple. 

Sayana Chatti

Sayana Chatti is a small scenic hamlet located on the Barkot Yamunotri road in the Uttarkhasi district , of Uttarakhand. It is known for its peaceful environment and beautiful river views and as a convenient rest point for pilgrims travelling toward Yamunotri Dham.
