Ooty

Udhagamandalam is the official name of Ooty, It is one of the most popular hill station locate in Nilgiris hills in Tamil Nadu. Ooty is famous and known for its Tea Plantation, Nilgiri Mountain Train (Toy Train), Lakes, Gardens and many more things. The Ooty was situated about 2300 meters (7500 feet approx) above the sea level, Ooty is surrounded with all on all sides.

  

The Temperatur of the Ooty was about 10 to 20 degree in all season. The place is more favorable for the honeymooners, backpackers and nature lover.

Places to Visit in Ooty

Botanical Garden Ooty

The Botanical Garden of the Ooty is one of the most famous and attractive place in ooty, it was spread over a 55 acres on the slopes of Doddabetta Peak. it was establish by the William Graham in 1848 as a terraced garden. Botanical Garden was divided in parts which are lower garden, italian garden, new garden, conservatory and nurseries. 

In Botanical Garden, there are about 650 species of plants, trees, shrubs and ferns including exotic and indigenous varieties.

Rose Garden Ooty

Rose Garden in Ooty is one of the Largest and famous rose garden of India. It is situated on the slopes of Elk Hill in Ooty and spread over 10 acres of area. In this Garden there are about 20,000 different Variety of roses are there available which include Green Rose, Black Rose, Miniature Rose, Hybrid Tea Rose etc. 

Rose Garden is Awarded the Garden of Excellence by the World Federation Societies for its huge collection of rose and its well maintenance. The Garden features viewing points, stone arches, pergolas and for rose tunnels. The climate is cool throughout the year which provide the good condition for growing a wide variety of roses.

• Entry Fees : 75 rupees for adult and 40 rupees for children. 

Doddabetta Peak

Doddabetta Peak is one of the Highest Point in the Nilgiri Hills, It is Located about 9 km from Ooty town, it was situated at an height of 2637 meter (approx) from the sea level. From the top of Doddabetta Peak, visitor can enjoy 360° views of nilgiri mountain, forest and nearby town.

Nilgiri Mountain Railway (Toy Train)

Nilgiri railway connect the Mettupalayam to Udhagamandalam (Ooty) via Coonor, The length of the rail track is about 46 km (approx) which passes through forests, valleys and tea plantation.
